Book Review: Hoshin Kanri - Policy Deployment for Successful TQM

This book is nearly twenty years old.  In fact, I read somewhere that it's the first book on Hoshin Kanri.  It's still available but it's expensive....$50 on Amazon.

Save your money.  If you don't know anything about HK, this book will have you totally confused.  Usually, diagrams and illustrations are a good thing but this book has a surfeit of them and most seem to be just stuck into the book with little or no explanation.  Such definitions as are provided aren't adequate.  "Definition of a control item:  an item selected as a subject of control for maintenance of product quality."   Well, there you go....clears it all up, doesn't it?

I'll look around to see if I can find another book on HK worth the price of admission.
