Where blogging and agile manufacturing meet

When I started this blog, I fully intended to keep it up to date, posting often.  Maybe not daily but at least once or twice a week.  Like most of us, I spend a bit of time at my computer and at least some of it is spent looking at stuff on eBay, right?  And what could be easier than transferring some of that eBay watch time over to blogging, right?

But I look back at my blog history and I've been good for one post every two months or so.  Maybe.

The fact is that being a good blogger, like being a good practitioner of agile manufacturing isn't that terribly  difficult in and of itself.  It does take a lot of discipline.

It takes discipline to actually type those thoughts down and get them on the blog rather than spending another ten minutes looking at moose pitchers that are up for auction.  (Yes, there are lots and lots of moose pitchers on eBay.) And it takes discipline to sustain 5S, quick change, development of task instructions, total productive maintenance procedures and everything else that's needed to make agile manufacturing successful.

Who knew that blogging would give me some insights as to the challenges managers face when they implement agile methods?

So, OK...I'm going to get better about getting these blog posts written and all of you get better about doing your 5S walk throughs.
