How to Get Started: Part Six - Implementation III: Quick Change Workshop How To: Part 2

Last time, I talked a bit about how to carry out a quick change workshop but I didn't go into specifics.

Here's the basic agenda:

  1. Spend about an hour in the classroom, covering quick change basics, especially the difference between internal and external changeover steps.
  2. Go out to either observe (that's the ideal, IMHO) or videotape a changeover.  (Of course, perhaps you can observe AND videotape a changeover.)
  3. Review the videotape or observation notes and develop ideas for:
    • Moving "internal" steps to external, and
    • Streamlining remaining internal steps.
  4. Developing a followup list.
  5. Scheduling changeover team meetings
Note:  You might need to cycle through steps 2 and 3 several times.
